인사말 Greetings 호후시는 1,300년전, 스오우국의국부가위치했던곳이며그곳에서성장한역사와문화가지금도소중하게이어져오고있는역사도시입니다. 또한, 풍요로운자연환경과관광자원이풍부한곳인동시에, 오랜세월집적된산업으로야마구치현내에서제일가는제조품출하액을자랑하는산업관광도시이기도합니다. 올해는시제시행 75주년을맞이하는해로, 앞으로도시민, 의회, 행정이상호협동하여도시발전을추진하고, 희망으로가득한 100주년 을위해모든시민이드높은자부심을가질수있는고장창조에매진해나가겠습니다. 2011년 8월호후시장마쓰우라마사토 Hofu City was the provincial capital of Suo No Kuni 1,300 years ago and it is a historical city where the history and culture from those times have been carefully passed down to this day. In addition, blessed with rich natural resources and sightseeing environments, Hofu City has flourished as a city of tourism and industry for years, boasting the biggest amounts of product shipment in the prefecture. This year marks 75th anniversary since Hofu was formally incorporated as a city, and we will continue to promote the creation of our community through cooperation among the citizens, city assembly and municipal government. DATA of HOFU City
Location of Hofu City Hofu City is located near the heart of Yamaguchi Prefecture. Having been formed downstream of the first-class river, Sabagawa, the City has the prefecture's largest flat land (Hofu Plains), and faces a beautiful coastline of Setonaikai Inland Sea. The City is bordered on the east by Shunan City and on the west and north by Yamaguchi City. The three islands on the south, Mukoshima, Sabashima, and Noshima, are included in the City.
