1,a) 2,3 2,3 3 Development of the ethological recording application for the understanding of the zoo animals behavior Yoshida Nobuaki 1,a) Tanaka Masayuki 2,3 Wada Seitaro 2,3 Abstract: The authors are developing and evaluating the ethological recording application for zoo visitors on tablet computers. With this application, zoo visitors record zoo animals location and behavior in 3- dimensional data, and look see the result with the web-based application. In this paper, we describe the outline of the application and its initial evaluation. Although zoo animals are not in the wild, visitors can observe varied animal species nearby in the zoo. This application takes advantage of zoo s this characteristic. Using this application, zoo visitors can understand wildlife and nature through ethological observation in a scientific manner. In addition, recorded data will be utilized for animal husbandry in the zoo.
