Research on productivity improvement of business operations for manufacturing, distribution and health-care industries. The research on product and facility life cycle design and management is performed aiming at realization of the closed loop manufacturing. In particular, we put emphasis on development of modeling and simulation technologies for evaluating effectiveness of various life cycle options such as reuse, recycling and maintenance. Good quality is defined as conformity to requirement, thus quality should be considered for all products. The purpose of the research is developing and improving techniques, concepts and statistical methods which are effective for quality management of various products. We conduct research on the intellectual property management (including patent, design patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret etc.) as well as the industry-academy collaboration and international industrial cooperation for those who will be asked to navigate to find solutions in creating innovation and culture. Performance of Product depend on both Manufacturing and Logistics. This course forecast on design of Manufacturing and Material handling systems. These are Facility planning, Material handing, VRP: Vehicle routing Problem and LRP: Location RP, applying mathematical approach. The standing points are optimization and pragmatisms.
In a small amount of time, increasing the efficiency of R&D activities in the new product development, which is called value creative process, is very important for engineers at R&D division. Therefore, we want to study the development of effective techniques to create highly-valued products rationally by utilizing some of practical technology management methods (QFD, VE, TRIZ and so on.) to facilitate efficiency on real projects. Research of Japanese Manufacturing Strategies. Especially focusing on the way to keep a leading position in the global market by creating new business models and research methods ( e.g. mother-plants, open-innovation and post-galapagos phenomenon). Research on Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution process innovation and Supply Chain Management System. Such as Coupling point inventory planning theory, Risk Management and Crisis Management. Dynamic changes of the economic climate and the relationship between shareholders, customers, employees, etc have commanded redefining of company s management options. Given these circumstances, we will study what management options to select and what course of actions should be taken. This research in conjunction with other research fields, will be developed into more concrete management design. Central theme being how to create values with technology as core resources, various key concepts for the management of technology ( innovation, alliances, architecture, platform, mass-customization, core technology, etc.) will be studied.
Products design and work systems design based on Human-centred design process are studied; the methodologies of the new products development and design, human error prevention, and human productivity improvement, etc. are researched from the view points of ergonomics and human life engineering. This research course mainly focuses on the study from the viewpoint of management information for the various kinds of management activities, i.e. marketing research and strategy analysis. Applications of Information Technology and information analysis to business activities are covered.
