The Chinese Books Printed at Japan were transported by Chinese Ships during Edo Era: The Works included in the Zhibuzuzhai Congshu MATSUURA Akira The exchanges between Japan and China in the Edo period continued with the Chinese ships of the Qing Era visiting Nagasaki and having trade from the middle of the 17th century to the 1860s. Those Chinese ships of the Qing Era carried Chinese goods to Japan and Japanese goods were carried to China. There were many books in the cargoes brought from China to Japan. Those books were bought and collected by the feudal lords of wealth including Tokugawa Shoguns because they were expensive. However, some books were brought to China from Nagasaki by the Chinese ships of the Qing Era. It is not well known that those books were the Chinese lost books reprinted in Japan. Regarding the Zhibuzuzhai congshu including the lost books brought to China from Japan by the Chinese ships of Qing Era, I d like to explain what kind of reactions the lost books included in the Zhibuzuzhai congshu caused in the academic society of Qing in this report, as an essay to reveal how cross-border cultural exchanges across the water were promoted.
