( 不可算名詞とは 数えられない名詞をいいます ) Generic nouns represent the whole of a group. ( 総称的な名詞とは 全てのものをグループで表している名詞です ) Therefore, generic non-count nouns are nouns which represent the whole of a group and which cannot be counted. ( ですので 総称的な不可算名詞とは 何かをグループで表している 数えられない名詞のことです ) Ex: Food is important to life. ( 例 : 食べ物は 生命のために重要だ ) *The word "food" is a generic noun that represents all food and at the same time, a noncount noun.
