5 Abstract of Master s Thesis of Academic Year 2014 A Promotion for Japanese Girls Idol Groups Based on Good Relationship between New Fans and Core Fans Category: Social Science Summary The idol industry is on the rise against the recession of the music industry in general.an idol boom that has sprouted out since the 2010s has been considered as a factor of its background. Currently it is called idol age of war and the number of idols has reached the highest ever. Along with this, the number of idol fans are also increasing. On the other hand, in the idol event venue, it is often seen the feud between core fans and new fans since the opportunities that fans meet each other in person are increasing as well. In an interview survey conducted for idol fans, it was found that the feud especially happens between core fans and new fans. In this research, we describe one method of idol promotions by making a community where both core fans and new fans can coexist. And, as a method, sharing memories and knowledge of the idols among core fans and new fans. By creating a community where core fans and new fans can coexist, it is expected to keep the core fans enthusiast and to acquire further new fans. In this research, we experimented on three patterns,using the method above and summarize the evaluation obtained, and evaluate the effectiveness the community where core fans and new fans coexist.
