2 名誉唎酒師酒匠 Honorary KIKISAKE-SHI SAKA-SHO 名誉唎酒師酒匠とは 2000( 平成 12) 年に制定され 日本酒及び日本文化の普及 発展に貢献されている各界の著名人の方々の功績をたたえ 日本最古の酒造之太祖久斯之神が祀られる佐香神くすのかみ社 ( 島根県出雲市 ) の御神前にて任命顕彰されます 名誉唎酒師酒匠は任命委員を務めるしゅせんしゅせん酒泉酒仙の会七賢人にて決定された後 久斯之神へ上奏申し上げます 名誉唎酒師酒匠は日本酒及び日本文化のさらなる普及 発展につとめる役割を担い 後世への橋渡し役を務めます The "Honorary Kikisake-shi SAKA-SHO" which was established in the year 2000, is a special rank within "the Sages of the Sake fountain" for the prominent figures who have contributed greatly to the promotion and the development of Sake as well as the Japanese culture. It shows the honor of their achievements and is appointed by the ancient Japanese god and the progenitor of Sake making, Kusunokami. After the appointed people are decided by the member of the Sages of the Sake fountain, they are reported to the throne of Kusunokami, the progenitor of Sake making. The Honorary Kikisake-shi SAKA-SHO that have been appointed up to now are not only acknowledged by the society, but also introduce Sake and the Japanese culture to the next generation. 受章者には 久斯之神が祀られる出雲で伝統的手法でつ くられる出雲和紙を用いた 任命書 と古くより酒器にも使わ れてきた錫製の 勲章 が神授されます The appointed people will be given a letter of appointment made by Izumo Washi, traditional paper made in Izumo where Kusunokami, the progenitor of Sake making, is enshrined, as well as a tin medal which as has been used as a Sake ware in ancient times. 1

Just as the Honorary Kikisake-shi SAKA-SHO, they are chosen by the Seven Sage of the Sake fountain, then are appointed by Kusunokami, the progenitor of Sake making. 4 酒造之太祖久斯之神が祀られる佐香神社 Saka Shrine Which is honored with the presence of Kusunokami, the god of sake making 全国から八百万の神々が集い 国護りの議事や縁結びの談議をおこなったと伝えられる出雲国の 10 月は神在月といわれています そして この地に伝わる出雲神話にはヤマタノオロチ退治 出雲大社の酒造りをはじめとする神と酒にまつわる様々な逸話があります そこには はるか昔から酒を通じた神と人々のつながりを垣間見ることができます The October is the god residing month in Izumo from the old calendar. It is said that over eight million gods come from all over the country to Izumo for discussion, to protect the country, and for engagements. Also, there are many episodes such as Extermination of the Yamata No Orochi (the legendary huge eight-headed serpent) which is the most famous myth in Izumo, and the oldest Sake factory Saka Shrine. In the myth, the gods, sake, and people involved can be seen for certain. 佐香神社社殿久斯之神が祀られる神殿 出雲市小境町に鎮座する佐香神社は久斯之神が主祭神に祀られ 出雲国風土記 にも記される酒の神様として古くから信仰を集めてきました 風土記によれば その昔 神々はこの地域に酒を醸す家屋を立てて酒造りを行ったとされており この地を流れる佐香の川が酒の古称でもあることから日本酒発祥地の一つであるといわれています According to the Izumo country local records Saka Shrine, which is in Izumo city, Kozakai-cho, is honored with the presence of Kusunokami, the god of sake making. The gods built structures to ferment sake in the area surrounded by the river. It is surmised that the origin of the word sake is the place where sake production began, Saka. 3
5 出雲で酒造りを許された神社は出雲大社と佐香神社だけです 出雲の酒の歴史は神社から始まり その酒は神様に供えられ人々はその御神酒を拝戴し 神様と一体になることが目的であったとされます それらに必要な酒造りの中心的役割を担ったのが この佐香神社といわれ 現在でも毎年 10 月 13 日の秋季例大祭には 多くの酒造家や杜氏さらには味噌や醤油等の醸造に関わる人々が参拝に訪れ この日のために神社で醸されたどぶろくが振る舞われます There are two shrines that possess a sake production license in Izumo. One is Izumo Taisha and the other is Saka Shrine. The sake production started at Izumo's shrines where they would offer sake to the gods, and then drink Omiki (sake offered to the shirine). By doing so, the people felt unity with the gods, which was the purpose for drinking the sake. Since sake is made from rice, an essential food, average people could not drink sake for pleasure until very recently. In present day, there is still a big festival featuring Nigorizake (unfiltered sake) on October 13th. Many people among, Touji( master of sake brewer ), kurabito( brewery sake workers), miso industry, and soy sauce industry gather as a religion to honor the god of fermentation. 名誉唎酒師酒匠任命式典時の湯立ての神事の様子 名誉唎酒師酒匠任命式典時の湯立ての神事の様子 毎年 10 月 13 日開催の佐香神社例大祭での湯立ての神事の様子 佐香神社の秋季例大祭でも行われる 湯立ての神事 は神前に大きな窯を据えて湯を沸かし 笹をその湯に浸し参拝者の身にその湯を振りかけて神に祈る神事です 任命式典ではこの湯立ての神事を行い 玉串を奉奠することにより 久斯之神に受章者を奏上します Saka Shrine's unique Yutate No Shinji (boiling water ceremony) consists of first boiling water in a container and then using that water to purify the area. After this, appointees' names, histories and Tamagushi( a sprig of a sacred tree) are given to the gods, and Omiki is passed among the people at the ceremony. 4
