1 Kyushu University Collaborative Platform in Research and Education on Humanities and Social Sciences Call for Applications: FIXED-TERM ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN DIGITAL HUMANITIES November 8, 2018 Kyushu University Kyushu University launched a new joint education program for undergraduate students at the four Faculties of Letters, Education, Law, and Economics from April For more details, please refer to the following website: In order to facilitate collaborative and interdisciplinary research and education, the four faculties further decided to establish a "Collaborative Platform in Research and Education on Humanities and Social Sciences" (hereinafter, "Collaborative Platform"). By recruiting a researcher who is expected to establish systems to facilitate multidisciplinary research and develop their own research, the Collaborative Platform aims to strengthen collaborative activities amongst various disciplines, and to foster an environment conducive to interdisciplinary research and education. The Faculty of Humanities is currently recruiting a researcher to play a central role in managing the Collaborative Platform. The Faculty of Humanities is responsible for developing Digital Humanities, a new approach to humanity studies, incorporating methods in information science such as networking, text mining or image processing. ****************************************************** Position: Fixed-Term Assistant Professor position Discipline: Digital Humanities Start date: April 1st, 2019 Basic Qualifications: 1. (i) Research strengths in Humanities or Information Science, and willingness to practice in Digital Humanities, (ii) practical experiences in Digital Archive projects, or (iii) research activity integrating historical studies into Information Science 2. Conduct research and teach as a member of the Faculty of Humanities 3. Undertake additional activities that contribute to the functioning of the Faculty of Humanities Period of Appointment: Three years, with the possibility of extension of two years (AY through AY ) Remuneration: Salary shall be paid in accordance with the relevant regulations stipulated by Kyushu University Required Documents: 1.
