1 No pp.1 9 Research on ctual Situation and Background of Commercial ccumulation in the kihabara District, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo Yuya USHIGKI ccepted November 14, 2012 This study analyzes the actual situation and background of commercial accumulation in the kihabara district which demonstrates the region s characteristics. The results indicate the following: 1. Commercial accumulation is contingent on shopkeepers innovations and circumstances and regional conditions. 2. Shopkeepers consider personal interest such as profits before opening a store. 3. New shops introduce new businesses, which are popularized throughout the kihabara district. 4. New businesses influence existing business in the district.
