Letter Capacity of Photographic Materials (Received 8th Sept., 1960) Shgo OOUE Hiroyuki UEDA Research Laboratory, Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. Mamiashigara, Kanagawa-ken, Japan It is purpose of this paper to obta margal magnification capacityof photographic materials for duplicatg use. The capacity is defed bymaximum accomodation number of of reduced specific area of photographic material, when quality of is just acceptable. The margal magnification for 8 pot type was 34 with Fuji Micopy film, was 26 with Fuji Neopan F film developed by Sease 3 developer. In this case, capacity area of 36 ~24 mm was about 135,000 with former film, was about 79,000 with later film. The quality of was evaluated by psychological scale of five step. of margal magnification to spatial frequencyfor specific ga of response function was obtaed.
