To avoid confusion, always remember that adverbs of place modify the verb by showing the movement towards a place; On the other hand, prepositions relate an object (person, place, and thing) by showing the movement towards an object. (ほとんどの 場 所 の 副 詞 は 前 置 詞 としても 機 能 します 場 所 の 副 詞 は 動 詞 を 修 飾 し ある 場 所 に 向 かう 動 きを 表 すということを 忘 れないようにしましょう それに 対 して 前 置 詞 は 目 的 物 ( 人 場 所 もの)に 関 連 し 目 的 物 に 向 かう 動 きを 表 します ) Page 3

( 客 たちは 周 辺 で 彼 を 待 った ) In these examples, adverbs of place: (here and there) modify the verb working;(out) modifies the verb went; and (around) modifies the verb waited. (これらの 例 でそれぞれ 場 所 の 副 詞 (here と there) は 動 詞 workingを 修 飾 し (out) は wentを 修 飾 し (around) はwaitedを 修 飾 している ) Note( 注 ): erb ( - 動 詞 ) Adverb of place( - 場 所 の 副 詞 ) Comprehension Check: Give two examples of adverbs of place then, use each one in a sentence.
