ORA th ANNIVERSARY

Ora town continues to support the condition of high quality housing through the development of local housing projects that have been created in harmony with our agricultural community. The town, in cooperation with our citizens, has also established laws that set guidelines with regard to our scenic attractions. Ora town works hard to carry out improvements with regard to the condition and maintenance of a stable drinking water supply, sewage systems and drainage canals. We have improved our disaster prevention plans and are carrying out an effective use of our natural resources through the reduction of locally generated garbage. Local neighborhoods participate in crime prevention activities, consumer education and various consultation services. Ora town promotes land use policies that take full advantage of the precious assets of our area. Progress is being made in making Tatara-numa Park a prefectural park. The town also promotes comprehensive improvements in our urban infrastructure through urban development projects, development of the informationcommunication system and energy conserving enhancements. Progress is also being made with regard to improvements in our river development efforts and in the Ora Chuo Park area as we strive to make Ora a charming and functional town.

Ora town promotes an excellent education program by providing a wide range of opportunities for interaction throughout the town as well as in its elementary schools and nursery schools. Local school education is carried out at our fine schools that treasure the character and personality of each child. They provide a complete education and offer a wide range of learning opportunities through courses in foreign languages, information technology, volunteer activities, etc. The town also maintains a very good lifelong learning environment by promoting social education opportunities in excellent facilities to preserve our cultural assets. Ora town is also expanding its sports facilities, fostering leadership and providing many opportunities for residents to come in contact with art and culture. Ora town provides various types of health check-ups and consultation services designed to promote positive health at the Municipal Health Center in an effort to promote the improvement of Ora as a town of welfare. The town also encourages and supports local volunteer and NPO activities that provide welfare services at home and facility services, as well as motivational activities for the elderly residents and independent rehabilitation for those facing disabilities and challenges. The town also maintains an environment that is good for the healthy upbringing of our children as well as bearing and rearing children free from anxiety. We like to think of Ora as a town that cares about its children.

Ora town encourages and supports the creative activities of its proactive residents as it strives for regional enhancement through close human contact. In order for local residents from other countries to maintain peace of mind in their lives, the town has succeeded in becoming a race equality society with all of our residents working together to promote a system for protecting and nurturing our young people. Project teams have been set up to respond promptly, accurately, precisely, and flexibly to the needs of local residents, in an effort to contribute to resident service in the new town building. Through town-wide participation and the sharing of information, Ora town promotes urban enhancement founded upon a reciprocal partnership among its residents, the neighborhoods and the town administration. Ora town supports its agricultural base through the encouragement of local production for local use as it strives to nurture a multifaceted farm management with highly motivated leaders. The town encourages and supports start-up businesses through the creation of networks with existing factories and the support of small businesses. Commercially, Ora town tries hard to support its changing commercial base through the creation of bustling commercial districts that attract consumers. The town also promotes the Tatara-numa Park and the Ora Chuo Park as strongholds of its tourism industry.
