1 1 2004 Overview of Kyutech e-learning Activities: Projects, Organization and Environments Yoshimasa Ohnishi Shin nosuke Yamaguchi Kazunori Nishino Fuminori Kobayashi In this paper, we report various e-learning activities in Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech). Kyutech, our university, has 2 faculties and 3 graduate schools on 3 distance campuses, which causes the necessity of tele-education. First, Kyutech selected synchronous tele-education using SCS and teleconference systems. Next, in 2000, Kyutech has started to develop learning-materials by Video-on-Demand technologies for asynchronous tele-education via the Internet as part of Virtual University Project composed of some universities. These experiences teach us the importance of organizing supporting systems and collaboration with other universities. Particularly collaboration with other universities is effective in consciousness improvement of our teaching staff. We describe some examples of learningmaterials for e-learning and our supporting system for developing these learning-materials. Since 2004, Kyutech newly started an e-learning course for a license to teach information science for K-12 students. We also describe the new project and some other e-learning activities in Kyutech.
