This report shows innovation of competency of our faculty of social welfare. The aim of evaluation competency is improvement in the Social welfare education effects, by understanding of studentʼs development and condition of profound study objectively. First of all, we conducted a self evaluation pre-test using a competency assessment model which was developed by University of Hokusei. Data were gathered from 80 students before the social work practice. After fully discussion, we made original evaluation of competency item from these pre-tests results. The questionnaire is consisted 62 items of competency, which are academic skill, social skill, knowledge skill, professional skill, practice and enthusiasm toward Development of Human social work competency. Then we researched self evaluation of competency which was targeting on 250 students from our faculty second, third, and fourth grade. As a result, it was found that professional education and exercises of our faculty improve professional competency of social work education. However, it was revealed some further issues such as examining other factors which infl uence an improvement studentʼs competency, apart from social work education.
