II. GRAMMAR REVIEW:( 文法の復習 ) Topic: Real Condition IF Clause in Present Tense (5-6 minutes) ( テーマ : 現在時制の if 節 )(5-6 分 ) A Real Condition If Clause is used to present a condition or prediction. The main clause that comes before or follows this is used to present the result. Real Condition( 実際条件 ) と呼ばれる if 節は 条件もしくは予想を表します if 節の前もしくは後に来る主節は 結果を表します E.g. If you give me a free movie pass, I can join you in watching the movie. If Clause Main Clause 例 : もし無料チケットをくれるのなら (if 節 ) 私はあなたと映画を見に行きます ( 主節 ) In all Real Condition If Clauses, the present tense of the verb should be used. A common mistake is using the future tense of the verb instead. 実際条件の if 節では かならず現在形の動詞を用います 未来形の動詞を使わないように気をつけましょう Remember: The present tense of the verb should always be used with Real Condition If Clauses. Also, if the Real Condition If Clause comes before the main clause, a comma should be used to separate both clauses. 注意 : 実際条件の if 節では かならず現在形の動詞を用います また if 節が主節の前に来るときは コンマを用いて両者を分けます Examples: REAL CONDITION IF CLAUSES Incorrect Verb Form( 正しくない動詞の形 ) Correct Verb Form( 正しい動詞の形 : 現在形 ) The movie will be good if Damon will star in the movie. If popcorn will be sold in the lobby, I will buy some. If they will cry because of the movie, I will cry too. If I will finish my work early, I will meet you at the cinema. The movie will be good if Damon stars in the movie. ( もしデーモンが出演していたら その映画はいいものになったでしょう ) If popcorn is sold in the lobby, I will buy some. ( もしポップコーンがロビーで売られていたら いくつか買います ) If they cry because of the movie, I will cry too. ( もし彼らが映画で泣いたら 私も泣くでしょう ) If I finish my work early, I will meet you at the cinema.
