54 The Establishment of Friendship Agreement Since the signing on the Bond of Friendship between the municipalities of Ringe/Ryslinge and Noboribetsu City in 1997, our three cities have been positively supporting the activities of both the Ringe/Ryslinge-Noboribetsu Friendship Association and the Noboribetsu Denmark Assocaition to deepen mutual understanding and build up friendship among our peoples, and the fruit of the activities has extended to cultural and educational fields. According to the formation of the new Municipality of Faaborg-Midtfyn, both our cities will strengthen the ties of friendship even more, and continuously maintain the activities of both the Faaborg-Midtfyn-Noboribetsu Friendship Association and the Noboribetsu Denmark Assocaition. Our goal is promote friendship and cultural exchanges based ipon mutual appreciation and reliance. In accordance with the above mentioned guiding principles, The Municipality of Faaborg-Midtfyn and The City of Noboribetsu will subsequently outline a more elaborate description of the fields of co-operation and how the goals of the agreement is best achieved.
