7 2015 pp. 29~40 STUDIES IN ART 7 Bulletin of Tamagawa University, College of Arts 2015 Leading Research Analyses and Comparison of Research in Gender and Dance Education 2014 Matsumura (2014) has found that the female students in her acting class at university are maintaining gender kyara at the same time as they act the character role in the play in what can be described as a dual-acting system. In order to consider gender in acting education, this essay will focus on how the relationship between theatre and gender/feminism has been researched. Then, we will move on to see how in theatre education gender has been researched. To compare, what kind of research has been done about dance and gender in education will also be examined. To conclude, having what has been found so far in mind, there will be a discussion on how we should consider the issue of gender within acting classes at the university level.
