る -verbs? う -verbs? How to distinguish る verbs from うverbs??? Step 1: make sure the verb in question is NOT an irregular verb ( する くる ) Step2: Check to see if it ends with る for the short form Step 3: Look at the vowel in the penultimate (i.e. 2 nd from the last) syllable.
