In the present study, based on the dietary pattern survey collected in last three years, we have analyzed the effects on obesity improvement after participating in this class in terms of nutritional intake. The weight loss rate at the end of the three-month class compared to the initial weight prior to the participation was 7.7±4.3%. Significant reductions were recognized in all of the body weight, BMI, percent of body fat, and waist size. Furthermore, the blood tests showed significant increase of the plasma HDL cholesterol level and significant decrease of the triglyceride and glucose levels. Comparing the levels of nutritional intake before and after participation in the class based on the dietary survey by weighing, significant decrease in the levels of the energy, fat, and carbohydrate and significant increase in the level of the dietary fibers were observed. In addition, regarding the changes in the food intake, significant decrease in the level of grains and significant increase in the level of beans were observed. Thus, our data suggest that improving the diet had definite effects on the weight loss and also proved the significant role of the diet class in the community seminar.
