No.8, 149-160 (2007) The Story of Creation in the Bible and the Kojiki MATSUMOTO Keiko Nihon University, Graduate School of Social and Cultural Studies It appears that the worldviews evident in Shinto, a faith particular to the Japanese race, and the worldviews apparent in the Bible, have not been subjects of comparison in the past. I subsequently attempted to analyze their respective stories of Creation, concentrating on the Creation from the Book of Genesis. I found that the 7 days of Creation and the gods of Creation appearing in the Kojiki may correspond to one another. It also became apparent to me that through a comparison of worldviews concerning Creation evident in the Bible and the Kojiki, one could in fact see very intriguing similarities in each of their concepts of divinity. 1 1 2 2 1 1 2 3
