Roles of Exogenous Factors in Endogenous Regional Development : A Case of Sagano Gabai Bachan Location Shooting Assistance Program in Takeo City Akinori (Aki) Nakamura, Ritsumeikan University Daiki Maeno, Ritsumeikan University This paper investigates a series of regional regeneration activities in Takeo City of Saga Prefecture, which activities are triggered by volunteers activities done to assist in location shooting for television movie, Sagano Gabai Bachan (Awesome Grandma in Saga). The results of the study indicate that the characteristics of endogenous development are present for the subjected activities. The study also reveals that the local leaders strategically utilize exogenous factors to boost endogenous development in Takeo City, which implies the importance of considering all factors, including exogenous factors, in implementing a regional regeneration plan.
