Human Developmental Research 2005. Vol.19, 81-96 The attitude and feelings of childrearing in full-time working mothers of young children Sophia Junior College KOSAKA, Chiaki Bunkyo Gakuin University KASHIWAGI, Keiko The purpose of this investigation was to examine the relationship between the attitude and feelings of childrearing and demographic variables (educational background; income level; which parents live closely). The results suggested that negative childrearing attitude of the mothers in full-time job was related to the educational background and which parents of the couples live closely. In addition, in the women who were opposed to working from husbands and husband s parents, positive feelings of childrearing were significantly lower and tended to have negative feelings of childrearing, comparing with the women who have supports from them. In the women who have conflict between the appraisal of their mother s working in their childhoods and the current working pattern, positive feelings of childrearing were significantly lower and tended to have negative feelings of childrearing, comparing with the women who don t have it.
