Rakugo is the traditional Japanese sit-down comical monologue performing art, which dates back to the late 18 th century, is currently enjoying a popularity boom in these days. It includes more than 300 stories and some of them are designed to look like characters from neurological disorders. For example, in the story of Yume-Hachi (Always dreaming Mr. Hachibei), the story s lead character suffers REM sleep behavior disorder and hypnagogic hallucination. In the story of Obake Nagaya (A pseudo-haunted tenement house), the lead character plays a ghost as if it were a hypnagogic hallucination. And in the story of Kon-nyaku Mondou (Debating about konjac), the lead character may suffer gait disturbance due to neuro-syphilis infection. Of sure, some of the description of symptoms are incorrect, it is very interest to know how the people of the time think and act for such disorders.
