1 RESEARCH NOTE 197 北京オリンピック大会におけるバドミントンの試合に関する研究 男女シングルスとダブルスの公式記録の分析 岸一弘 1 2 塩野谷明 1 はじめに バドミントンの試合は シャトルを打ち合っているラリーの時間 ( 以下ラリー期 ) とそ のラリーが途切れてから次のラリーが始まるまでの時間 ( 以下非ラリー期 ) が交互に繰り 返されている このような間欠的な運動 (intermittent exercise) のバドミントン競技で は ラリー期における疲労を非ライリー期に出来るだけ回復させることがパフォーマンス を十分に発揮するうえで重要だと考えられる これらに関しては 阿部と渡辺 (1985) がラ リー期と非ラリー期の時間比について検討したものがある それによれば 一流プレーヤ ーの試合は 10 秒対 10 秒くらいであったが近年では延長傾向になり およそ 1 対 1 の比に 近い また二流プレーヤーの試合になると 一流プレーヤーに比べてラリー期が短く非ラ リー期は長くなる傾向にあり しかも比は 1 対 2 に近いと述べている すなわち 二流選 手のほうが疲労回復のための時間を非ラリー期に多くとっていることが推測される しか しながら この報告は 2006 年のルール改正前におこなわれたものである 2006 年のルール改正によってバドミントンの試合は 15 点 3 ゲーム制 (2 ゲーム先取 ) のサイドアウト方式 ( もしくはサービスポイント制 ) であったものが 21 点 3 ゲーム制 (2 ゲーム先取 ) のいわゆる ラリーポイント方式 に変更となった 改正前は サービ ス権のあるサイドのみに得点が与えられる方式であったために ファイナルゲームまで持 ち込むような長時間の試合では 1 時間を越えることもしばしばみられた そのため 試合 による選手の生理的負荷を減少させたり テレビ中継 ( 特に ゲームごとの時間がおよそ 分かるようになったことが大きい ) に対応できること などが改正のねらいにあげられて いた (IBF の会見,2006) このラリーポイント方式によって 最も様変わりしたのは試合時 間の短縮ではないかと考えられる そこで本研究では ラリーポイント方式による初めてのオリンピックとなった北京大会 におけるゲームの様相を明らかにすることから 今後のコーチングに生かすための基礎的 資料を得ることを目的とする 1 共愛学園前橋国際大学 2 長岡技術科学大学
2 198 共愛学園前橋国際大学論集 No.10 2 研究方法 夏季オリンピック北京大会 (2008) の公式ホームページに掲載されていたバドミントンの記録を収集 分析した なお オリンピック種目に採用されている男女のシングルス及びダブルスについて検討し ミックスダブルスについては除外した 統計的処理にはマイクロソフト社 EXCEL 用統計ソフト Statcel を用いた 各項目についての平均値及び標準偏差を求めた 平均値の差の比較は t 検定を用い 危険率 5% 未満を有意とした 3 結果 表 1 オリンピック北京大会におけるバドミントンの試合結果 表 1は オリンピック北京大会における男女のシングルス及びダブルスの試合結果をまとめたものである 左の3つ (Duration time) は 第 1ゲームから第 3ゲームまでの実質時間の平均値と標準偏差である 次の2つ (Longest rally,sec,strokes) は 最長ラリー時間と最多ストローク数の平均値と標準偏差である また右の2つ (Average rally,sec,strokes) は 平均ラリー時間とストローク数の平均値と標準偏差である なお 2 試合については途中棄権であった (1) 試合の所要時間図 1は 種目ごとのインターバルを含めた試合に要した時間 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 ) を示している 男子シングルス ( 以下 MS) が 41.71±12.93 分 女子シングルス ( 以下 WS) が 37.66±15.35 分 男子ダブルス ( 以下 MD) が 43.19±13.02 分及び女子ダブルス (WD) が 43.25±12.33 分であった シングルとダブルスともに 男女間の有意差は認められなかった

4 200 共愛学園前橋国際大学論集 No.10 (2) 最長ラリー時間図 2は 種目ごとの試合中における最長ラリー時間 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 ) を示している MS は 42.44±16.25 秒 WS は 34.40±8.46 秒 MD は 34.13±13.98 秒及び WD が 55.75±22.38 秒であった シングルスについては男子のほうが有意に長い値を示し 一方 ダブルスについては女子のほうが有意に長かった (3) 最長ラリー数図 3は 種目ごとの試合中における最長ラリー数 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 ) を示している MS は 37.95±13.95 回 WS は 26.96±6.63 回 MD は 36.19±12.87 回及び WD が 57.13±21.91 回であった シングルスについては男子のほうが有意に多い値を示し 一方 ダブルスについては女子のほうが有意に長かった **P<0.01 (sec) N.S. ** 図 4 平均ラリー時間 (str) ** ** **P<0.01 図 5 平均ラリー数
5 Mar 北京オリンピック大会におけるバドミントンの試合に関する研究 201 (4) 平均ラリー時間図 4は 種目ごとの試合中の平均ラリー時間 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 ) について示したものである MS は 12.12±1.97 秒 WS は 12.19±1.82 秒 MD は 8.81±1.55 秒及び WD が ±2.52 秒であった シングルスについては男女間に有意差が認められなかった 一方 ダブルスについては女子のほうが有意に長かった (5) 平均ラリー数図 5は 種目ごとの試合中の平均ラリー数 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 ) について示したものである MS は 8.93±1.63 回 WS は 7.30±1.49 回 MD は 8.06±1.47 回及び WD が 11.19±2.32 回であった シングルスについては男子のほうが有意に多い値を示した 一方 ダブルスでは女子のほうが有意に多かった 4 考察 (1) シングルスについて男子 1 回戦から決勝までの全 41 試合におけるゲーム毎の所要時間をみると 第 1ゲームが 16.2±4.3 分 ( 平均値 ± 標準偏差 以下同じ ) 第 2 ゲームが 16.3±3.7 分 第 3 ゲームが 18.2±4.1 分であった 一方 女子の全 47 試合における結果は 第 1 ゲームが 14.5±4.2 分 第 2 ゲームが 14.7±5.3 分 ( 途中棄権 2 ゲームを含む ) 15.1±5.0 分 ( 途中棄権を除いた場合 ) 第 3 ゲームが 18.3±5.4 分であった これらの結果については 男子と女子の間に有意な差が認められなかった 1ゲームが 21 点制 ( 最大延長 30 点まで ) になり旧方式との比較は厳密にできないと考えられるが 参考までに男子一流選手を対象とした報告 ( 阿部 岡本,1985) をみることにする 1982 年のトマスカップで韓健選手 ( 中国 ) とリム スイ キン選手 ( インドネシア ) が対戦した試合は 第 1 ゲームが約 20 分 第 2 ゲームが約 19 分 ファイナルゲームが約 22 分 ( 合計約 61 分 ) となり この持久戦を制したのが韓健選手であった また 1984 年のヨネックスカップで同じ韓健選手がスギアルト選手 ( インドネシア ) と対戦した際は 第 1 ゲームを約 21 分 第 2 ゲームを約 27 分及びファイナルゲームを約 28 分 ( 合計約 76 分 ) 要して この死闘戦を制したのも韓健選手であった 本研究の結果 全試合の総時間 ( インターバルを含む ) については 男子が 21 分 ~79 分 (41.7±12.9 分 ) であった そのうち ファイナルゲームまで持ちこんだ3 位決定戦が最長の 79 分であった 一方 女子の全 45 試合 ( 途中棄権 2 試合を除いた ) における試合時間は 18 分 ~71 分 (38.5±15.1 分 ) であった その中で ファイナルゲームまで持ち込んだ決勝戦の 71 分が最長であった 本研究の結果については 男子のほうが長い傾向にあったが 男子と女子との間には有意差が認められなかった また これらの結果を旧方式でおこなわれた 2004 年オリンピックアテネ大会 ( 男子の平均 51 分 女子の平均 38 分 ) と比べると 男子は短縮傾向にあり 女子ではほとんど同値であった なお 有意差検定は 2004 年オリンピックアテネ大会の詳細な資料が不明のためおこなえなかった
6 202 共愛学園前橋国際大学論集 No.10 次いで ラリー時間とラリー数についてみると 最長ラリー時間は女子が約 27 秒 男子が約 38 秒となり 男子のほうが有意に多い値を示した しかし 平均ラリー時間は男女ともに約 12 秒で男女間の有意差が認められなかった 一方 最長ラリー数については 男子が約 38 回 女子が約 27 回となり男子のほうが有意に多い値を示した また平均ラリー数は男子が約 9 回 女子が約 7 回となり男子のほうが有意に多い値であった これらのことから シングルスでは次のような特徴が推測される すなわち 平均ラリー時間は男女がほとんど同値であるにもかかわらず 男子のほうが多くの ( 速い ) ショットを打ち合ってラリーが続いていることが考えられる なお 前述の韓健選手らの2 試合の平均ラリー時間も約 12 秒であった (2) ダブルスについて男子の1 回戦から決勝までの全 16 試合におけるゲーム毎の試合時間をみると 第 1 ゲームが 15.6±3.1 分 第 2 ゲームが 15.8±3.8 分 第 3 ゲームが 17.9±2.2 分であった 同様に 女子の全 16 試合における結果をみると 第 1 ゲームが 18.0±5.8 分 第 2 ゲームが 18.1±4.8 分 第 3 ゲームが 18.7±2.5 分であった これらの結果については 男子と女子の間に有意差が認められなかった また全試合の総時間 ( インターバルを含む ) についてみると 男子は 20 分 ~61 分 (43.2 ±13.0 分 ) であり 最長はファイナルゲームまで持ち込んだ1 回戦と3 位決定戦の 61 分であった これに対して 女子は 23 分 ~65 分 (43.3±12.3 分 ) となった その中で最長はファイナルゲームまで持ち込み 日本の末綱 前田組が中国ペアに勝利した試合の 65 分であった 本研究の結果については 男子と女子との間に有意差が認められなかった また これらの結果を 2004 年オリンピックアテネ大会 ( 男子の最長 84 分 平均 47 分 女子の最長 104 分 平均 51 分 ) と比べると 男女ともに短縮傾向にあるものの 有意差検定はアテネ大会の詳細な資料が不明のためおこなえなかった 次に ラリー時間とラリー数についてみると 最長ラリー時間は男子が約 34 秒 女子が約 55 秒となり 女子のほうが有意に長い値を示した そのうえ 平均ラリー時間も男子が約 9 秒に対して女子が約 13 秒となり 女子のほうが有意に長かった これに対して 最長ラリー数については男子が約 36 回 女子が 57 回となり 女子のほうが有意に長い値を示した また平均ラリー数は男子が約 8 回 女子が約 11 回となり 女子のほうが有意に多い値であった これらのことから ダブルスでは次のような特徴が推測される 試合の総時間は男女ともに約 43 分でほとんど同値であったが ラリー時間とラリー数については女子のほうが有意に多かった したがって 男子はラケットの軽量化等に伴うスピード化の加速が進んでいる 女子については旧方式での試合の時とほとんど変わらず 決め球 ( ショット ) に欠け 比較的長いラリーの打ち合いからミスをしたサイドが失点する傾向にあるものと考えられる つまり 2008 年オリンピック北京大会の時点ではラリーポイント制に適したダブルスのプレースタイルが十分に確立されていなかったといえよう
7 Mar 北京オリンピック大会におけるバドミントンの試合に関する研究 まとめ 本研究は 2008 年に北京で開催された夏季オリンピック大会におけるバドミントンの試合結果を分析することでゲームの様相を明らかにし 今後のコーチングに生かすための基礎的資料を得ることを目的とした 対象となった試合は ミックスダブルスを除いた全 88 試合であった 得られた結果は以下の通りである 1) シングルスおよびダブルスの各ゲームおよび総試合時間については 男子と女子との間に有意差が認められなかった 2) 総試合時間では旧方式のオリンピックアテネ大会に比べ 女子シングルスを除いて 以下のような短縮になった 1 男子シングルス約 10 分間 2 男子ダブルス約 4 分間 3 女子ダブルス約 8 分間 3) 最長ラリー時間および回数ともに男女間での有意差がみられた すなわち シングルスでは男子のほうが有意に長い値であり ダブルスでは反対に女子のほうが有意に長い値となった 4) 平均ラリー時間および回数においても 男女間に有意差がみられた すなわち シングルスでは男子のほうが有意に多い値であった また ダブルスについては女子のほうが有意に多い値であった 以上の結果から 一流選手を対象としたラリーポイント方式におけるゲームの様相の一端が明らかになった 今後は さらに国内外の一流選手が出場する大会の試合結果を収集 分析していきたい < 本研究は第 20 回日本スポーツ方法学会大会において口頭発表したものに修正 加筆し たものである > 注 本研究の原資料はオリンピック北京大会の公式ホームページに掲載されていたものであ り データの詳細な処理 分析方法については不明である

9 Mar 北京オリンピック大会におけるバドミントンの試合に関する研究 205 Abstract A Study of the Badminton Games in the Beijing Olympic Games : An Analysis of the Official Records of Men s and Women s Singles and Doubles Matches Kazuhiro Kishi 1 and Akira Shionoya 2 Analyzing the results of the badminton matches in the Beijing Olympic meeting, the aim of this study is to get the basic data that can be utilized for future coaching and to reveal the various aspects of the games. Except for mixed doubles games, this paper analyzes all 88 games played in the Beijing Olympic Games. The principal points to be observed are as follows: 1) Compared to the matches in the Athens Olympic Games, in which games are played according to the old system, the general length of a game was reduced except for women's singles. 2) Comparing men s and women s matches, a significant difference was seen in terms of the longest rally hour and the highest number of rally times. 3) And in terms of the average rally hour and the average number of rally times, a significant difference between men s matches and women s ones was also seen. These results reveal some important aspects of the games that are played by top players in the rally point system. From now on, I d like to collect and analyze top player s (domestic or overseas) game results further.
