The recovery processes after the dissolution of romantic relationships in adolescence Natsumi IshimotoGraduate School of Education, Hokkaido University of Education Tamio ImagawaHokkaido University of Education The one purpose of this research was to identify the structure of the recovery processes after the dissolution of romantic relationships, and compare these processes to the Bowlby s four stages theory on mourning. The other was to examine if 7 factors which were sex, the causes of dissolution, the frequency of dissolution experienced, which of dyad decide to separate, the tern after dissolution, the term of their romantic relationships and intimacy of romantic relationships, could influenced the recovery processes. Results indicate that the structure of the recovery processes was explained by the Bowlby s four stages theory on mourning. The recovery processes were consisted of four axes which were Popularity-Specificity, Make distance from the experiences of dissolution, Protest-Despair, show one s shock Directly-Indirectly. The scores on these axes were affected by the causes of dissolution, the term after dissolution, the term of romantic relationships and sex.
