A Review of Research into Pretend Play for Children with Autism INOUE Yohei This study suggests a framework for typical development of pretend play, and reviews researches into pretend play for children with autism to indicate points of intervention. In addition, it is suggested that three key behaviors (including orienting regulation, imitative learning, and triad relationship) are crucial for early development of pretend play, and that intervening, in terms of those behaviors, could play important roles for development of children with autism.
