213 12 コンピュータ 図書 コンピュータ 近年の計算機 ネットワーク センサーなどの技術の発達により 大量のデータが継続的に取得 流通 蓄 積されるようになっている そのようなビッグデータからの知識発見の基盤として統計学を含むデータ科学の 重要性が広く認知されてきた ビッグデータの効果的な利用は科学技術革新の鍵を握ると考えられており 理 論科学 実験科学 計算科学に続く第 4 の科学としてデータ中心科学が推進されている このような状況に鑑 み 統計数理研究所は平成 26 年度に 3 台の異なるタイプの大型計算機システムを新しく稼働させた それら は共有メモリ型と分散メモリ型の 2 台のスーパーコンピュータシステムと 1 台のクラウドシステムである こ の 3 台のシステムはその愛称を一般から公募したが その結果 統計数理研究所元所長故赤池弘次先生の業績 である赤池情報量規準にも因み それぞれ A I C と名付けられた この構成によりユーザーの様々な利用目 的に応じて柔軟な計算資源の提供が可能となった 1. データ同化スーパーコンピュータシステム A A は シングルシステムとして世界最大の 64TB の主メモリを搭載した SGI 社製共有メモリ型スーパーコン ピュータ SGI UV 2000 を中核するシステムである 本システムの中心は 2 台の UV 2000 であり 合計で 5120 コア 10 コア CPU である Intel Xeon E を 512 個 メモリ容量 128TB 外部ディスク容量 816TB 理論 性能値 98.3TFLOPS という共有メモリ型としてはこれまでにない規模のスーパーコンピュータシステムである A の半分の計算資源は 全国の主要な大学 研究機関が保有するスーパーコンピュータを高速ネットワーク で結んだ共同計算環境である 革新的ハイパフォーマンス コンピューティング インフラ High Performance Computing Infrastructure HPCI へ 大学共同利用機関としては初めて資源提供されている 図1 210 データ同化スーパーコンピュータシステム A

214 2. 統計科学スーパーコンピュータシステム I I は 分散メモリ型のスーパーコンピュータである SGI 社製 ICE X を中心に物理乱数発生装置や大規模共 有ストレージシステムなどから構成される ICE X は 512 台の計算ノードと 24 台のテストノードで構成され ており 12 コア CPU Intel Xeon E5-2697v2 を 2 個搭載した主記憶 128GB のノード 400 台と 12 コア CPU Intel Xeon E5-2680v3 を 2 個搭載した主記憶 128GB のノード 136 台からなる また 536 ノードのうち計算アクセラ レータ(Intel Xeon Phi)つきのノードが 96 ノードである 合計で コア 主記憶容量 100TB 外部ディス ク容量 2.5PB 理論性能値 336TFLOPS のシステムである 物理乱数発生装置は秒間 528MB の発生速度を持つ 3 台のサーバで構成されている そして可視化表示のために 3D 表示できる 4K の 200 インチスクリーンとプ ロジェクタも備えられている 図2 統計科学スーパーコンピュータシステムⅠ 3. 共用クラウド計算システム C C は 69 台の Dell 社製サーバ PowerEdge R620 を中心として構成される 合計で 1380 コア 10 コア CPU である Intel Xeon E5-2680v2 を 138 個 メモリ容量 16.4TB 外部ディスク容量 364TB 理論性能値 28.7TFLOPS を有する クラウドミドルウェアとして CloudStack を導入し 統計解析のための仮想環境を利用者に提供する この仮想環境はマルチノード構成となっており 利用者は最大で 4 コア 32GB のメモリの仮想ノードを 8 台 並列で利用することができる 並列計算に対応した R や Hadoop Mahout などのデータ解析のためのソフト ウェアがあらかじめ利用しやすい形で提供されることが特徴である また 外部公開用サーバなど 研究支援 のための仮想環境も提供している 211

215 図3 共同クラウド計算システム C 4. 利用可能なソフトウェア 所内で利用できる商用ソフトウェアとして Mathematica MATLAB SAS S-PLUS SPSS Spotfire RapidMiner などが導入されている これらのソフトウェアは 個人の端末で実行したり 各階入出力室に設置されている 高性能端末装置 リモートから利用可能なアプリケーションサーバーで利用したりできる また 高度に並列 化された R もスーパーコンピュータシステム A や I で利用できる 5. ネットワーク 所内情報網については 研究所の移転に合わせ平成 21 年 3 月より立川新研究棟において新規に認証ネット ワークの構築を開始し 移転完了の平成 21 年 10 月より本格運用が始まった その後統計科学スーパーコンピ ュータシステム I の導入に伴い機器のリプレースを行った 各研究室に複数配置された 1000BASE-T の情報コ ンセントは 10GBASE-SR の幹線を持つ各階あたり数台のフロアスイッチに分散接続され障害に配慮した設計 となっている これらの有線 LAN は IEEE a,b,g,n,ac をサポートした無線 LAN とともに認証ネットワー クを通して提供されている また平成 26 年 9 月に 世界各国の大学等高等教育機関の間でキャンパス無線 LAN の相互利用を実現するローミングサービスである Eduroam に参加した 所内情報網は SINET を経由してインターネットと接続され 国内外のサイトに対して高速通信が可能とな っている 平成 28 年 2 月からは SINET5 ノードに更新されている 6. 所内開発ソフトウェアの公開 統計数理研究所では最新の統計科学の理論的成果を実用化するための新しいプログラムの開発を行ってお り それらは所外からでもいろいろな手段で利用可能である 表 1 人気の高い TIMSAC や CATDAP に関 しては FORTRAN77 に完全準拠するように改編されており Windows 上で稼働するシステム Web 上で稼働 するシステム 統計解析システム R のパッケージなどを提供している 例えば 図 4 は Timsac for R package 使用時の画面のハードコピーであり 季節調整や時系列解析を R 上で行うことができる なお プログラム提 供に関しては統計科学技術センター kks@ism.ac.jp にお問い合わせいただきたい 212
