The study sample was 2,282 nurse managers from 681 hospitals in Japan. Respondents completed a 48-item multiple-choice questionnaire. Alpha coefficients were computed to examine the initial consistency of MaINr ; principal component analysis was also performed for the 8 items in each six categories of MaINr. Finally, the validity was analyzed based on Messicks unified theory of construct validity. Analysis found that the alpha coefficients of reliability for the categories ranged from Analysis also yielded sufficient evidence for the construct aspect of validity of the index.
