1 A Tentative Plan for Improving English Language Teaching SAITO Eiji The purpose of the speech the writer gave at the First International Symposium sponsored by the Kansai University Graduate School of Foreign Language and Research is to propose a tentative plan for improving English Language Teaching from elementary school through university in Japan. Two points were emphasized: The role and importance of so-called English for greetings. The necessity of establishing the English education system where students can master English required for discussing international affairs in the era of internationalization. It s very rude of you!
