The following are the uses of causative verb. ( 使役とは特定の人や物事が ある行動を引き起こす際に用いる構造です 以下は使役 動詞の使用例です ) Causative Verb + Simple Form ( 使役動詞 + 単純形 ) let [let+person+verb] make [make+person+verb] have [have+person+verb] Meaning of the Structure ( 構造が表す意味 ) to allow someone to do something ( ある人物がある物事を行なうのを許可する ) to force someone to do something ( ある人物がある物事を行なうのを強制する ) to give someone the responsibility to do something ( ある人物にある物事を行なう責任を与える ) Examples( 例 ) My boss let me go on a business trip. ( 私の上司は私の出張を許可しました ) The investigator made me stay at the police station for 8 hours. ( その捜査官は 8 時間も私を警察署に拘留しました ) Kindly have my driver prepare the car. ( どうか私の運転手に 車の手配をさせてください ) Remember: You have to make sure that the verb following the causative verb is in the base form. The base form is the simplest form of the verb. The following are examples of verb in the base form: do, go, play and so on. ( 使役動詞に続く動詞は 原形動詞であることを確認しなければなりません 原形動詞は動詞の最も基本的な形式です 以下は do go play などの原形動詞の例です ) Page 3
