1 THE ANNUAL REPORTS OF HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT SCIENCE VOL.27, 15-23, 原 著 長距離選手の性格特性試合前後の情緒変化と競技成績との関係について 2009 第 85 回箱根駅伝における K 大学の場合 A study of the correlation between changes of characteristic traits and peak performance of long-distance runners before and after the competition In case of 85th Hakone-ekiden of K-university in 2009 滝 山将剛 Yukitaka TAKIYAKA ABSTRACT We have demonstrated that there is linearly relationship between changes of characteristic traits and peak performance of wrestling players before and after the competition. Our findings have indicated that the wrestlers who have positively changed characteristic traits before the competition have shown peak performance and vice versa, i.e., the wrestlers who have negatively changed them before the competition have not shown performance. Is this phenomenon specific manner in the wrestling players or general one? The present study was undertaken to address this issue. That is, is this phenomenon also observed in different athletes? Then, using same method (Y-G test) based on previous our reports, we have investigated relationships between changes of characteristic traits in ten long-distance runners of K-university before and after the competition (85th Hakone-ekiden 2009). The results were similar to wrestlers ones. That is, some runners who have changes their characteristic traits before the competition could show their peak performance. Concretely, runners with characteristic trait of E-Type have increased and runners with other Types (D, C, I and N-Types) have improved them before the competition. Based on the present results, it is suggested that phenomenon of changes of characteristic traits before the competition is usually seem to negative tendency for the competition, but we have to pay attention to active effects dependent on individual different characteristic traits. 2 16 滝山 Ⅰ. はじめに 性格 ( ヒトの情意的側面を反映しているという 意味で ここではこの用語もちいることにする ) は 大別すると質問用紙法 投影法 作業検査法 などの手法を使って客観的に把握することが可能 である ヒトの情意 ( 性格 ) 的側面の特性を把握 することは そのヒトのパフォーマンスの成否を 予測するうえで極めて重要である 特にそれが実 際の競技場面においては その勝敗の決定に及ぼ す比重が極めて高いことは常日頃我々が痛感して いるところである 筆者は 今までこの観点に立 ってスポーツ選手 特にレスリング選手にたいし 性格検査法として広く受け入れられ 信頼性の高 さで定評のある谷田部 ギルフォード (Yatabe Guilford)YG 性格検査法 以下 YG 検査という を使用して情意的側面が実際の競技の前後におい てどのように変化し それが実際の競技成績と どのように関わっているかについて報告してきた 3)4)5)6)7)8)9)10)11) 即ち YG 性格検査を選手の 心理面的変化が著しく起こると考えられる 選手 にとって最も大切な試合 ( オリンピック大会等 ) 前後で実施し 同じ条件下での性格類型の選手が どのような情緒変化をきたすかを調べる方法であ る 今までは漠然と しかも経験的に捕らえられ ていた選手の試合直前の情緒変化が 実際の試合 結果と大きな関わりを持つことが分かってきた 即ち YG 性格検査の性格類型と情緒尺度 (D: 抑うつ性 C: 気分の変化 I: 劣等感 N: 神経 質 O: 客観性 ) に それらが如実に反映される ことが分かった 換言すれば 心理的側面の変化 を科学的に捕らえることが出来るようになっ た ということである しかし 未だ充分に 個人の性格特性とパフォーマンス ( 勝敗 ) の 関係を明確に解析するまでには至っていな い そこで今回は これらの一連の研究の継 続として この点を一層明確にする目的で いまや国民的行事として最も高い注目を浴び る 東京箱根間往復大学駅伝競走 ( 以下箱根 駅伝という ) 選手の性格特性を調べ その差異 及び 情緒的側面の変化と競技成績との関係につ いて調査解析した その結果を今まで筆者が報告 してきたトップレスラーの特性と比較すること で 今後の共通のした競技力向上の施策の一助に することを目的とした Ⅱ. 調査方法及び被験者 被験者は 大会にエントリーされた K 大学駅伝 チーム 19 名である チームの性格特性及び 情緒 の変化を把握する目的でエントリーの 19 名全員 に YG 性格検査を実施した 第 1 回目は 千葉白 子海岸で実施された調整合宿中の平成 20 年 12 月 8 日に全員に実施した ( 印 ) 第 2 回目は 情 緒変化を知る目的で本戦に出場予定の選手 往路 の出場予定選手 6 名 ( 本戦出場は 5 名 ) は 最も 緊張の高まると推察される 平成 21 年 1 月 1 日 の夜 ( 印 ) 復路の出場予定選手 9 名 ( 本戦出 場は 5 名 ) については 平成 21 年 1 月 2 日夜に実 施した ( 印 ) 第 3 回目 は大会後の 1 月 11 日 に本戦に出場した 10 名について実施した ( 印 ) 尚 本戦前夜の YG 検査の際に 今回の自己目 標タイム 若しくは区間順位を挙げさせた YG 性格検査の実施方法 その処理方法などは 先の報告の通りである Ⅲ. 結果と考察 1.K 大学駅伝選手の性格特性について 表 1 に 第 85 回東京箱根間往復大学駅伝競走 表 1 第 85 回東京箱根間往復大学駅伝競走 K 大学駅伝チームの性格特性
3 長距離選手の性格特性 試合前後の情緒変化と競技成績との関係について 2009 第 85 回箱根駅伝における K 大学の場合 K 大学チーム 19 名の性格特性比率をまとめて示 した 17 ２ 競技成績との関係について この際 本戦に出場した 10 名についてのみ競 YG 性格プロフィールの類型に準じ 得られた 技成績との関係について考察した また 考察に 対象者 19 名の 性格プロフィ ールから大きく４ ついては襷を繋ぐ駅伝の特質から従来の手法であ つの類型に分類可能であった その結果から 右 る性格特性別での考察ではなく区間順に考察す 下がり型 安定積極型 D-Type ８名 42 る 平均型 平凡型 A-Type ５名 26 左下 図１ に区間の順位の経緯を示した 朝日新聞 がり型 不安定消極型 E-Type ４名 21 より 図２ に出場校全部の区間順位の経緯を 左より型 安定消極型 C-Type ２名 11 示した ベースボールマガジン社 第 85 回箱根 であった これらの結果から すでに報告されて 駅伝より いるスポーツマン的性格 1 2 を示す 右下がり型 安定積極型 D-Type の性格特性を示す選手 第１区 21.4km 大手町 鶴見中継所 が８名 42 で K 大学駅伝チームにおいても 走者 Y K 選手 C-Type ４年 自己設定 最も多くみられた それらの性格特性は先に報告 目標 区間５位以内 タイム設定なし 実際の されているスポーツマン的性格 安 定積極型 の範疇に属していた 従 来は D-Type を示す性格の選手はス ポーツマン的性格と呼ばれ 競技者 として好ましい性格とされてきたも のである また 今まで競技者とし ては どちらかと言えば異端視され てきた E-Type 不安定消極型 の 選手が４名 21 みられた この 傾向は近年特に顕著で 筆者らがこ の研究を始めてから 20 数年が経過 したが国際大会で活躍しているトッ プレベルのレスリング選手において も この E-Type を示す選手がみら れたが 今回は本戦に出場した選手 に お い て も み ら れ た 従 来 は D-Type を示す性格の選手はスポー ツマン的と呼ばれ 競技者としても 最も好ましい性格とされてきた し かし 生活環境 その他時代の変化 に相応して 従来では考えられなか ったような性格特性を有する選手が 出現し 選手の心理的側面において 質的な変化が確実に起こっているこ とを示しているものと推察される 図１ 第 85 回箱根駅伝 上位の順位変動 朝日新聞社

5 長距離選手の性格特性試合前後の情緒変化と競技成績との関係について 2009 第 85 回箱根駅伝における K 大学の場合 19 緒的変化いついて示した 情緒安定性の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑 うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感大 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) のいずれの尺度 においても大きな変化はみられな かった 換言すれば 俗に言うエ ース区間に挑戦するという独特な 緊張感などはなかったものと推察 される しかし 注目されること は O 尺度 ( 客観的 ) の変化 ( 印 ) が大きく 客観的から主観的 ( 物事を冷静に捉えるこができな くなる ) になることを示していた この区間には傑出した 2 名の外国 人選手がおり ずば抜けたスピー ドで他の選手を圧倒するレースの 展開であったことで 競争心を煽 られ冷静さを失ない自分のペース を守り切れなかったものと推察さ れる 特筆されることは 大会後 に実施した検査 ( 印 ) において 情緒的変化の尺度に不安定要因へ の変化がみられたことである こ れは競技成績の不満を悔いる気持 ちが残っていたものと推察され る 第 3 区 21.5km( 戸塚中継所 平塚中継所 ) 走者 M T 選手 (D-Type) (4 年 ) 自己設定 目標 区間 5 位以内 1:04:20 実際の記録 1: 04:37 目標より 17 秒遅れ 区間 6 位のタイム チーム 11 位 図 5 に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定性の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) のうち D 尺度 C 尺度 I 尺度 N 尺度の尺度において小さくプラス要因への変化 がみられ I 尺度 N 尺度が小さくマイナス要因 への変化がみられた しかし これらは 情緒面 図 5 3 区 (21.5km)M.T 選手 D-Type の動揺に繋がる程の変化とは考えにくい このこ とから精神面においては平常心でレースに臨んで いたものと推察される 注目されることは O 尺 度 ( 客観的 ) の変化が大きく ( ) 客観的から 主観的 ( 物事を冷静に捉える事ができなくなる ) になる しかし このことは主観性が高まったこ とで 周囲と自分を上手く切り離すことができ自 分のペース いわゆるマイペースを作るための好 条件になったものと推察される 好選手が揃った 中での区間 6 位のタイムを出したことに繋がった ものと思われる 図 4 2 区 (23.2km)T.Y 選手 D-Type
6 20 滝山 第 4 区 18.5km( 平塚中継所 小田原中継所 ) 走者 M I 選手 (C-Type) (1 年 ) 自己設定目標 0:55:00 以内 実際の記録 0:56:12 目標より約 1 分遅れ 区間 5 位のタイム チーム8 位 図 6に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定性の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) のうち D 尺度 I 尺度 N 尺度に加えて O 尺度 ( 客観性 ) においてプラス要因への変化がみられた これらのことから 精神的には最高の充実が図られたものと推察される 自己設定タイムには届かなかったが 駅伝はタイムではなく襷渡しだ の格言の如く 順位に拘り 区間 5 位の走りに徹したものと推察される 大会後に ( 印 ) 情緒的側面がプラス要因へと変化を示したことは 自分の走りに納得する満足感から来たものと推察される 図 6 4 区 (18.5km)M.I 選手 C-Type 図 7 5 区 (23.4km)K.K 選手 D-Type 第 5 区 23.4km( 小田原中継所 芦ノ湖 ) 走者 K K 選手 (D-Type) (4 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:19:59 以内 実際の記録 1:22:12 区間 8 位のタイム チーム6 位 図 7に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) のうちD 尺度 I 尺度には変化なく C 尺度 N 尺度において小さくマイナス要因に変化していた しかし これらは情緒面の動揺に繋がる変化としては考えにくい 注目されることは O 尺度 ( 客観性 ) においてプラス要因への変化が みられた これは 現実を直視できることを示しており 本戦においては冷静に作戦を立て コースの攻略を考えられる状況にあったものと推察される 自己の設定目標よりやや遅れたが イメージ通りの走りができたものと推察される 往路 5:38:02 第 6 位第 6 区 20.8km( 芦ノ湖 小田原中継所 ) 走者 A M 選手 (E-Type) (3 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:00:30 実際の記録 1:02:11 目標より 1 分 40 秒遅れ 区間 21 位 図 8に 情緒的変化について示した
7 長距離選手の性格特性試合前後の情緒変化と競技成績との関係について 2009 第 85 回箱根駅伝における K 大学の場合 21 情緒的側面 ( 性格特性 ) は E-Typeであることから D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) らの尺度においては情緒安定性には否定的な因子反応がみられるが 自身の情緒面が総てマイナス要因になっているとは考えにくい この事実は先の報告を支持するものであった ) 注目されるのは 本戦前夜 ( 印 ) において Ag 尺度 ( 攻撃的でない ) G 尺度 ( 非活動的 ) の因子が極端にプラス要因である 活動的へと変化していた すなわち Ag 尺度の攻撃的でないが 攻撃的に G 尺の度の非活動的が活動的に である これらのことから 本戦に向けて 普段は内に向いている情緒面が闘争心として前面にでてきたものと推察される このことから 情緒面においては疑問点については見当たらない しかし 予想外にタイムが伸びなかったことは 特徴的なコース克服に苦戦したものと思われる 図 8 6 区 (20.8km)A.M 選手 E-Type 図 9 7 区 (21.3km)Y.T 選手 D-Type 第 7 区 21.3km( 小田原中継所 平塚中継所 ) 走者 Y T 選手 (D-Type)(4 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:05:00 分台 実際の記録 1:07:05 目標より1 分 05 秒遅れ 区間 16 位 チーム 13 位 図 9に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定尺度の D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) らの尺度 情緒不安定性の要因が総てプラス要因に変化していた この意味するところは 本戦に向けて情緒面 すなわち心理面おいては充実 安定していたものと推察される 自己の設定タイムには及ばなかったが シード権争 いを胸に順位を上げるべく走りができたものと思われる 第 8 区 21.5km ( 平塚中継所所 戸塚中継所 ) 走者 A K 選手 (D-Type)(1 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:07:30 実際の記録 1:07:18 目標より8 秒良 区間 6 位 チーム 11 位 図 10に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 ) N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) らの尺度においてプラスの要因への変化がみられ C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) 変化なし 注目されるのは N
8 22 滝山 尺度 ( 神経質 ) の変化が大きくプラス要因に変化している これらの意味するところは 試合前の心理面おいて過剰な神経質さがとれ いわゆるリラックスできた状態にあったと言うことである 充実が見事に図られていたものと推察される このことが目標タイムを上回り区間 6 位の走りに繋がったものと思われる 第 9 区 23.2km( 戸塚中継所 鶴見中継所 ) 走者 R H 選手 (D-Type)(2 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:11:00 実際の記録 1:12:50 目標より1 分遅れ 区間 15 位 チーム11 位 図 11に 情緒的変化について示した 情緒安定の尺度 D 尺度 ( 抑うつ性 ) C 尺度 ( 回帰性傾向 気分の変化 ) I 尺度 ( 劣等感 )N 尺度 ( 神経質 ) らの総ての尺度においてプラス要因への変化がみられた この意味することは 心理面での動揺はみられず むしろ充実していたものと推察される 復路のエース区間でもあり シード権争いの熾烈さが増すなか約 2 分 30 秒の間に8 校が競り合う展開であったために 精神面の充実は実戦の戦いでなかで自分のレース展開ができず 苦戦を強いられたものと思われる 第 10 区 23.1km( 鶴見中継所 大手町 ) 走者 S H 選手 (E-Type)(3 年 ) 自己設定目標 1:10:25 実際の 図 10 8 区 (21.5km)A.K 選手 D-Type 図 11 9 区 (23.2km)R.H 選手 D-Type 図 区 (23.1km)S.H 選手 E-Type
