With a hope that such criteria facilitates the readers to understand the strength and weakness of the study, the REporting of studies Conducted using Observational Routinely-collected health Data (RECORD) was developed by an international group of researchers and stakeholders. We translated the RECORD into Japanese with the permission from the RECORD co-chairs. RECORD extended the STROBE statement that set the standard for a general observational studies. We hope that the RECORD standards guide researchers in conducting studies that uses routinely collected health data, and also improve the quality of the reports of such studies.
