190 Patricia McGahan Students work on improving their ability to communicate in English in situations found in the international workplace and in everyday life through a variety of speaking, listening, reading and writing exercises. A focus is placed on exposure to the format and various types of questions used in TOEIC by doing a number of TOEIC practice exercises. Class activities concentrate on increasing students vocabulary, strengthening comprehension skills and communicative ability by working on communicative competence through improving the ability to communicate in English according to the situation, purpose, and roles of the participants. The class will use a lively and interactive approach that will focus on both building the range and understanding of language use, and awareness of the key test-taking strategies needed to get a high score. The primary goal of this course is for students to increase their TOEIC score. There are a variety of ways to achieve this. 1. Become familiar with the format of the TOEIC test. 2. Develop test-taking skills. Improve vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening. In other words, improve your overall general English ability. 1. A pre-toeic test will be given as an initial assessment. 2. The importance of the TOEIC test and a general overview of the test will be discussed. 3. Part 1 Photos 4. Part 2 Question Response 5.
