China Soft Power and Public Diplomacy: a Review of Wang, Jian ed. Soft Power in China: Public Diplomacy through Communication NAKAGAWA, Ryoji Edmund Gullion suggested the concept of Public Diplomacy in, and Joseph S. Nye Jr suggested the concept of Soft Power in s. After., US government have put the stress on these concepts in its diplomatic policy. Chinese government also began to pay attention to these concepts at the beginning of the st century. Jiang Zemin administration set up the Information Office of the State Council and developed the public diplomacy. Hu Jintao administration suggested the concept of Harmonious World in response to the growing wary of China s hegemony and further developed the public diplomacy policy through the institutional change. As the development of the public diplomacy in China, many academic articles and books published in English, Japanese and Chinese. This paper reviews Wang, Jian ed.
