3 CH- BATT. CH- BEFORE YOU BEGIN () This kit contains many screws in and other hardware different metric sizes and shapes. For your reference, the figures in the manual show actual sizes. (Some screws are extras.) Types of screws: Screw Self-tapping (TP) Screw Set Screw 5 TP Self-tapping (TP) screws cut threads into the parts when being tightened. Excessive force may permanently damage parts when tightening TP screws. It is recommended to stop tightening when the part is securely attached or when some resistance is felt after the threaded portion enters the plastic. How size of screw is given: Screw mm 3mm Overtightened. The threads are stripped. RADIO PREPARATION Handle Speed Control Stick Speed Control Trim CH- BATT. CH- Rudder Trim Antenna Speed Control Stick Switch Rudder Stick For forward movement & stop. CH- BATT. CH- Rudder Stick For steering (left and right bends). Battery Cover Set up a radio control system as indicated below. Plug in connectors. Install the AA-size batteries. 3 Extend the transmitter antenna. If not, the range of the transmitter will not be sufficient! Undo the receiver antenna. If not, the range of the receiver will not be sufficient! 5 Center all trims. (Transmitter) 6 Switch on. (Transmitter) 7 Switch on. (Receiver) 8 Check that the servos move according to your inputs. (Transmitter) Antenna Connector 9 Switch off. (Receiver) 0 Switch off. 7 7 Painting Clean the hull with mild detergent be fure painting. CAUTION: Before using Kyosho Spray Colors, always read the explanations! Protect your work area with old newspapers. Use an empty box to hold the hull steady while you paint. 8 Radio Box 3 x 8mm TP 5 Route the servo connector up and out of the radio box. Speed Control Servo Radio Box Rudder Control Servo 3 x 8mm TP Route the servo connector up and out of the radio box. Must be purchased separately! 7

Leave no openings for water to enter the radio box. 0 mm Cut off shaded portion. mm Drill holes with the specified diameter (here: mm). Must be purchased separately! Cut off excess.
11 9 Radio Box 5 Sponge Tape (Coarse type) Apply sponge tape around the entire rim, leaving no gaps. 0 Radio Box 6 3 x 8mm TP 6 Close. Open. Radio Box 8 x 86mm Shaft Note the direction. x Ensure smooth non-binding movement while assembling. Pay close attention here! x Assemble as many times as specified.

Tighten the screws to hold it in place. 0.5mm Ensure a gap of 0.5mm. Apply instant glue (CA glue, super glue). Assemble in the specified order. Apply grease. Assemble left and right sides the same way.

Pay close attention here! Apply instant glue (CA glue, super glue).
15 3 Hull 6 3mm Grommet 5 B Insert the pulpit, beginning at the stem, or front. Secure ti in place using CA adhesive. B- B- Aligh with the mark and attach using CA adhesive. 16 33 Rudder Set Screw Switch on the radio. When the rudder servo is at neutral, should be straight. Secure it in place with the set screw. 3 Hull 8 Decal 8 C- 8 C- 8 Place decal 8 on C-. Aligh it with the holes, and cut around C-. C- Drill the holes on the decal. 35 Rudder Hatch C-3.6 x mm TP 7 C- C- C- C- 7 C-3.6xmm.6xmm 6 Apply instant glue (CA glue, super glue).

Then, drill out the holes as shown. Cabin C-6 C-8 C-7 Apply instant glue (CA glue, super glue). mm mm Drill holes with the specified diameter (here: mm). 9

22 BATT. OPERATING YOUR MODEL SAFELY In order to avoid accidents and personal injury, be sure to observe the following: With R/C boats, discover a new world of pleasure. Wheth-er you run your boat on lakes, rivers or elsewhere, take precautionary measures to avoid accidents. The motor and Ni-Cd battery get hot from run-- ning. Do not touch them for a while after running. 7.V Ni-Cd Battery Never dispose of Ni-Cd batteries into a fire, as these can explode or emit noxious gases from heavy met-als used in Ni-Cd batteries! Do not put your hands or any objects into rotating parts, as this could result in serious accidents! BATTERY Never put the charger and Ni-Cd battery near flam-mable material while charging as this may cause fires! Under the following circumstances, short circuits may oc-cur and result in fires or other accidents: when disassembling or modifying Ni-Cd batteries.never do that! Do not dispose of Ni-Cd batteries! Return them to the retail shop! POWER 00 7.V Ni-Cd Battery 7.V EXPLOSIVE EXPLOSIVE For accident prevention, do not run your model under the following circumstances: 0 in places where many people gather! when rivers are swollen or their current is strong! Also make sure that nobody is using the same frequency as you do at the same time! with weak radio batteries! when the boat behaves or operates strangely! CH- Check! CH- 05 PRE-RUN CHECKLIST Are all screws securely tightened? Are the radio batteries fully charged? Is the Ni-Cd battery fully charged? Does the rudder operate according to your inputs on the transmitter? Does the speed controller operate according to your inputs on the transmitter? Is the Ni-Cd battery securely attached? Is the running area safe? Is nobody on your frequency when running at the same time in the same area? Is the propeller securely attached? Are all rotating parts greased? Can all moving parts move freely, without binding?
23 CH- BATT. CH- CH- BATT. CH- BATT. CH- BATT. CH- CH- BATT. CH- CH- BATT. CH- PROPER OPERATING PROCEDURES Fully charge the Ni-Cd battery. Extend the transmitter antenna CH- CH- 3 Switch on the transmitter. ON Check the transmitter batteries 5 6 Switch on the receiver ON OFF ON Ensure that the speed control servo is in off position. 7 Connect the Ni-Cd battery. Make sure the rudder operates according to your inputs on the transmitter. 8 9 Make sure the speed controller operates according to your inputs on the transmitter. After finishing running, collect your boat. AFTER RUNNING... Switch off the receiver. 3 Disconnect the Ni-Cd battery. 5 Speed control servo does not operate. Remove dirt from the hull. Switch off the transmitter. TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY Motor does not rotate. Motor rotates but boat will not run. When rotating by hand, propeller feels heavy or does not rotate. Even when releasing speed control, boat will not stop. OFF Transmitter and/or receiver is not switched on. Transmitter batteries are weak. Improper radio installation. Ni-Cd battery capacity is insufficient. Improper radio installation. Loose connectors. Motor trouble. Joint is not installed. Or, screws are loose. Dirt entered rotating parts. Improper linkage adjustment. OFF When NOT using the model, always switch off the receiver and transmitter! Furthermore, disconnect the Ni-Cd battery and remove it from the model! This may lead to overheat and fires! Switch on. Replace with new batteries. Correct as per radio instruction manual. Recharge Ni-Cd battery. Correct as per instruction manual. Make connectors tighter (e.g. with minus screwdriver). Replace with new motor. Tighten screws holding joint. Clean and regrease. ON OFF CHECK Adjust speed control trim on transmitter. Should speed controller not return to neutral, readjust linkages as per instruction manual. 3
