20 WARNING: Do NOT operate the model in the following places and situations: (Non-observance may lead to accidents!) Operate the model in spacious areas with no people around! Do NOT operate it:. in places where children and many people gather!. in swollen rivers!. in rivers, lakes and other places with strong currents! * Non-observance may account for personal injury and property damage! PROHIBITED OPERATING YOUR MODEL SAFELY Always check the dry batteries in the radio! When the radio batteries get weak, transmission and reception decrease. You may lose control of your model when operating it with weak radio batteries. This may lead to accidents! Keep in mind that people around you may also operate a radio control model! NEVER share the same frequency with somebody else at the same time! Signals will be mixed and you will lose control of your model. 05 This may lead to accidents! When the model is behaving strangely...! Immediately stop the model and check the reason. As long as the problem is not cleared, do NOT operate it! This may lead to further trouble and unforeseen accidents! WARNING: in order to avoid accidents and personal injury, be sure to observe the following: Handle fuel ONLY outdoors! Vapors and exhausts are very noxious to health! Do NOT put fingers or any objects inside rotating and moving parts! Rotating and moving at high speed, you may be seriously injured touching them! PROHIBITED PROHIBITED Right after use, do NOT touch equipment on the model such as the engine and muffler, because they generate high temperatures! You may burn yourself seriously touching them! PROHIBITED ONLY use glow fuel for radio control models! Because the use of gasoline and kerosene in R/C models ac-- counts for fires, NEVER use them! Fuel is highly inflammable and high-explosive!. NEVER use fuel indoors or in places with open fires and sources of heat!. Store fuel ONLY in cool, dry and dark places out of childrenõs reach! Tightly shut the cap!. Do NOT dispose of empty fuel cans into a fire! There is danger of explosion! NEITHER swallow fuel NOR let it into your eyes! Immediate measures should be taken: if fuel is swallowed, in-- duce vomit-ing. If fuel gets into eyes, rinse them and consult an orphamologist! 0

21 ENGINE DESCRIPTION Needle Valve: Adjusts the amount of fuel inflow for the air/fuel mixture. Glow Plug: Ignites the compressed air/fuel mixture. Idle Adjustment Screw: Adjusts the carburetor opening at idle and low speeds. Throttle Lever: Adjusts the amount of air/fuel mixture inflow and controls engine rpm. CHECKLIST BEFORE RUNNING Recoil Starter: To crank the engine. Carburetor: Mixes air and fuel and controls engine rpm. Engines include many high-precision parts. If disassembling engines carelessly, their original performance may be lost! Are all screws securely tightened? Do moving/rotating parts move smoothly? Are they greased to ensure non-binding movement? Is the fuel lining proof and free of cracks? Make sure it is well connected. Are the muffler and exhaust damage-free and well connected? Are the transmitter and receiver batteries fresh? Is the battery box securely installed? Do the servo horns and linkages move without binding? Is the running area safe? Is nobody using the same frequency as you at the same time? Fill the tank. WARNING: Since exhausts and fuel vapors are noxious to health, use fuel only outdoors! ENGINE STARTING () Disconnect the tube from the carburetor when refueling. Switch on the radio. ON Throttle Lever Choke the engine. Pressure Tube Push the fuel tank a few times, pinching the pressure tube with your fingers. 5 ON Check! Idle Heat the glow plug. Adjust the needle valve. Fully tighten the needle valve without using force. Refer to the engine instruction manual and unscrew the needle valve as specified. When fuel reaches this point, push the fuel tank one more time.

22 ENGINE STARTING () 6 Start the engine. Engine starting becomes easier when the throttle trim is raised. Start the engine. Throttle Trim 7 Run up the engine. When rpm become stable, lower the throttle trim, and disconnect the glow plug heater. Do not run the engine for a prolonged period without running your boat! The engine will not be water-cooled and hence will overheat! 8 CAUTION: Beware of burning yourself! After starting or running, engines and mufflers become very hot! The break-in is necessary to ÒprepareÓ brand new engines to regular and smooth running! If you fail to break-in an engine, the lubricating oil inside does not spread and, as a result, the engine will be caked with burns; running becomes difficult and engine life is dramatically shortened. Adjust in the order and once the break-in is completed. Needle Valve Adjustment (Maximum Rpm Adjustment) Start the engine as explained in the chapter <ENGINE STARTING> and run your boat. Do not pull the recoil starter rope past its 50cm limit for you may break it. For stopping the engine, pinch the fuel tube to interrupt the fuel supply. BREAK IN ENGINE ADJUSTMENT Needle Valve Watch the speed of your boat when run-- ning straight ahead at full throttle. When tightening the needle valve 0 at a time, speed increases. When your boat reaches top speed, the needle valve setting is optimal. When tightening the needle valve further, exhausts become invisible and rpm decrease. Running the engine with this setting will damage it. Immediately unscrew the needle valve. Note that for normal running, the needle valve is unscrewed 0 ~0 from the valveõs optimal setting position! 9 After stopping the engine, first switch off the receiver, then the transmitter. OFF OFF During the break-in period, do not operate engine with high RPM. The engine may be damaged! Because RPM are not stable when performing break-ins, avoid windy days and rough sea! Also take precautionary measures to retrieve your boat for when the engine stalls while your model is off-shore. Idle Adjustment Screw (Idling Rpm Adjustment) Adjust with the throttle control stick in neutral. The engine stalls. Tighten /8~/ turns at a time. Idle Adjustment Screw Neutral Your boat speeds off too fast. Unscrew /8~/ turns at a time. Adjust the engine so neither your boat will speed off nor the engine stall when the throttle control stick is in neutral position.

23 MAINTENANCE Before putting aside, draw out fuel from the tank. Next, restart the engine to combust remaining fuel. Leaving fuel inside the engine makes engine starting difficult. Wipe off dirt and oil. Grease all moving parts. Disconnect the receiver batteries. Wipe up all water inside the hull. THE ENGINE DOES NOT START OR IMMEDIATELY STALLS PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY The engine does not start. Fuel does not get into the carburetor. The glow plug is not heated. Wrong carburetor setting. Push the primer button for priming the carburetor. Check if the glow plug heater is correctly connected. Replace with fresh batteries or recharge the Ni-Cd battery. Replace with a new glow plug. Read the instruction manual again and reset. The recoil starter is difficult to pull. The engine starts but immediately stalls. Overchoked. (The cylinder is flooded with fuel.) The recoil starter is damaged. No fuel. The fuel filter and air cleaner are clogged. Overheated. The glow plug is defective. Wrong carburetor setting. Remove the glow plug and vigorously pull the recoil starter to expel excess fuel. Replace with a new recoil starter. Fill the fuel tank. Clean the fuel filter and air cleaner, or replace them. Thoroughly cool the engine, unscrew the needle valve 0 and start the engine again. Replace with a new glow plug. Read the instruction manual again and reset.
