GRAMMAR REVIEW: Topic: Verb Form Future Perfect Progressive (5-6 minutes) ( 動詞の時制 - 未来完了 ) The Future Perfect Progressive tense indicates that a continuous action is being done and will end at some point in the future. The form it follows is will + have + been + present participle of verb (-ing form). ( 未来完了進行形は継続している行為が未来のある時点で完了もしくは終了することを表します will + have + been + 動詞の現在分詞 (-ing 形 ) の形をとります ) Usually, you will use this tense if you see the expression By the time meaning before a certain time. ( 特定の時間より前を表す By the time という表現を含む場合にはたいていこの時制を用います ) By expression (ex. By the time) By the year 2015, (2015 年までには ) Noun or pronoun I ( 私は ) will have been will (~ でしょう ) have (~ になる ) been Present participle (-ing form) living ( 住む ) in this place for 9 years. ( この場所に 9 年間 ) Remember: There are verbs that aren t used in continuous tenses, these are called stative verbs. These verbs normally show a state and not an action (ex. feelings, emotions). In this case, you cannot use the future perfect progressive tense, instead, you use the future perfect tense (will + have + past participle).
