For sentences that ask questions, subjects don t usually appear before the verbs. Identify correctly the subject to determine the proper verb to use. 規則 1: 疑問文の場合は通常 主語は動詞の前に置かれません 適切な動詞を使うために 主語を正確に見極めましょう E.g. Where is the printer? subject = printer (singular), verb = is (singular) 例 : 印刷機はどこにありますか? 主語 = 印刷機 ( 単数 ) 動詞 =is( 単数形 ) 2. When two or more subjects are connected by and, the subject requires a plural verb. 規則 2:and によって接続されている 2 つ以上の主語には 複数形の動詞を用います E.g. 4 3. When two subjects connected by and refer to the same person or thing, the subject is singular and takes singular verb. 規則 3:and で接続されている 2 つの主語が同一人物あるいは物を指す場合 主語は単数扱いとなり 単数形の動詞を取ります E.g. The manager and owner takes his order of printer inks. subject = the manager and owner (singular), verb = takes (singular) 例 : 店長兼店主は印刷機のインクの注文を受けます 主語 = 店長兼店主 ( 単数 ) 動詞 =takes ( 単数形 ) 4. Words that come after each, every, no one, anyone, and everyone are always singular so use singular verbs. 規則 4:each every no one anyone everyone の後に来る単語は常に単数なので 単数形の動詞を用います E.g.
