1 第16回研究助成 B. 実践部門報告Ⅳ 英語能力向上をめざす教育実践 Reproduction を用いた英語表現能力の育成大分県大分県立大分南高等学校教諭池邉裕司英文読解を中心とした授業においてもア現の活動であるそのレベルに到達するためにはウトプットを促す活動を工夫することで日頃から英語を使用する機会をできるだけ多く与え英語表現能力を高めていくことができるのではないる必要があろうまた授業においても生徒の発話を概要かそれが本研究のテーマであるここでの repro- 促すようなドリルやタスクをその目的や学習段階に duction は story-retelling とも言われるがあるま応じて計画的系統的に組み込んでいかなければなとまった英文を読んでその内容を自分の言葉で再現らないであろうそれはオーラルコミュニケーショし書かせる活動である 5か月間にわたる実践の結ンやライティングの授業だけでなく英文読解を中果 reproduction の練習を重ねるにつれて表出する心とした授業においても言えることである英語の fluency は次第に増していった一方 accu- 本実践研究においては様々なアウトプット活動 racy は fluency が増すにつれていったん減少したがの中でも特に reproduction に焦点を当て読むこその後次第に高まっていった自由英作文を書く能とを主とした授業においていかに生徒の発話を促力においても特に語彙や文法力が向上する傾向が見しその表現能力を向上させていくかについて考察られた読んだ英文を常に reproduce するという経してみたい験を繰り返すことで英文を読む際にも自分で表出をするという観点で読めるようになり語彙や表現形式に対する注意力が高まりその習得が促進され 2 reproduction についてる可能性を示唆する結果が得られたここでいう reproduction とは story-retelling とも 1 はじめに呼ばれるがあるまとまった英文を読んでその内容を自分の言葉英語で再現する活動であるまずこの reproduction の活動が授業で用いられ実践的コミュニケーション能力を養うことは高等る色々なアウトプット活動の中でどのような位置づ学校学習指導要領外国語の目標の中に掲げられけとなるかを考えてみたい図1は主なアウトプットているそのためには情報や相手の意向などを理の活動を form-focused output と message-focused 解したり自分の考えなどを表現したりできなけれ output の観点から分類したものであるばならないしかし現実には自分の考えなどを表英文の音読や筆写 copying は主として言語形現することに苦手意識を持っている生徒は多い例式 form の習得を図る活動であるこの活動にはえば英語でスピーチをしたり自由英作文を書いたり生徒自身の message が入ることはあまりないこするような言語活動において自分の意見や気持ちれが制限作文 controlled writing になるとやを表現できないあるいは表現しても英語に間違いや message を加えることができる例えば仮定が多いために言いたいことが伝わらないなどの問題法過去を学んだ後にその form を用いて自分の気を抱えている生徒がいる持ちを表現するような場合であるスピーチや自由英作文などはかなり高度な自己表 146 それに対してスピーチや自由英作文ではまず最初
